The pianist Henning Ruhe was born in Hamburg. He studied at the »Franz Liszt« University of Music in Weimar. This winner of many national and international competitions has given many solo recitals, chamber music concerts and recitals in Europe and America in venues including the Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, at the Lucerne Festival and in the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow. He has given solo recitals in the Staatskapelle in Weimar, the Staatsphilharmonie in Moldavia and Jenaer Philharmonia. Henning Ruhe also studied artistic management and has worked in this capacity at the Staatsoper Berlin, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, at IMG Artists in New York and Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, where he has been running the Opera Studio since 2008 and where he took up the post of Artistic Administrator at the beginning of the 2017/18 season.
