Anton Rositskiy appeared at Oper Frankfurt for the first time in 2015, singing the role of Bogdan Sobinin in this production of Iwan Sussanin when it first opened. This Russian tenor's engagements this season are Arnold in Guillaume Tell at Oper Kiel, where he enjoyed great success as Raoul (Les Huguenots) and Libenskof (Il viaggio a Reims). Forthcoming debuts are Fernand in Donizetti's La favorite in Florence, Osiride in Rossini's Mosè in Egitto at Cologne Opera and Elvino in La Sonnambula at the China National Centre for the Performing Arts. He will also be returning to the Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, where he is a regular guest. Anton Rositskiy has also sung the Fisherman (Stravinsky's Le Rossignol) in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Brighella (Ariadne auf Naxos) with the Warsaw Philharmonic. Other recent engagements have taken him to the Opera Vlaanderen Ghent / Antwerp, Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, the Osaka International Festival, Rossini Opera Festival and Festival della Valle d’Itria. He enjoys a special relationship with the Slovenian National Theatre in Bratislava, where he has thrilled audiences with Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Tito (La clemenza di Tito), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and Arturo (I puritani). After studying at the Conservatoire in St. Petersburg, Anton Rositskiy began his career in that city, at the Zazerkalie Music Theatre.
