The Russian soprano Maria Bochmanova is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she made her debut in 2016, singing Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi. She sang the role of Tatiana for the first time in Yekaterinburg in 2016. Recent roles sung by this prize winner at the 2015 Neue Stimmen (New Voices) competition have included Violetta Valery (La traviata), Germaine (Donizetti's Les cloches de Corneville), Musetta (La Bohème), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Marfa (Die Zarenbraut/The Tsar's Bride) in St. Petersburg, Lauretta and Suor Genovieffa (Il Trittico) in Metz, Brigitta (Iolanta) – a role she will sing in Biel Solothurn – in Lyon and Aix-en-Provence and Micaëla (Carmen) at Norske Opera in Oslo. She also sang in a concert performance of Prokofjev's Semjon Kotko in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam under Vladimir Jurowski. Maria Bochmanova, who studied in Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg, was a member of the ensemble at the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vladivostok from 2013-15, where she built up a broad and interesting repertoire.
