Christoph Quest is a well known actor who appears on television and in films directed by Egon Monk, Heinrich Breloer, Uwe Janson, amongst others, and at many theatres (including ones in London, Brussels, Barcelona, Antwerp, Geneva and Atlanta). Now he is back to repeat his portrayal of Bassa Selim in this revival of Die Entführung aus dem Serail at Oper Frankfurt, where he also took part in Christof Loy's production of Die Fledermaus and was seen in the role of a Jewish violinist in Through Roses in the Bockenheimer Depot, where he directed his first opera: Weiße Rose/White Rose. Other recent roles have included the Steward in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. Christof Loy created the role of »Er/Him« for him in his production of Die Zauberflöte at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. He trained as an actor at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich under Gerd Brüdern. His many roles in plays have included Othello, Prospero, Faust, Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman and, in Frankfurt, Nathan the Wise. He is also a writer.
