The British conductor Julia Jones is admired for her clear, fresh and sensitive interpretations of many works. Now she's back at Oper Frankfurt, where she conducted Falstaff, La Damnation de Faust, Così fan tutte, Idomeneo, Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Le nozze di Figaro in recent seasons, for revivals of Die Zauberflöte and Cimarosa's L’italiana in Londra. She is a regular guest at leading opera houses around the world including Covent Garden, the Berlin and Vienna state operas, the Volksoper in Vienna, the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg, De Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, Welsh National Opera and the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen. She conducted Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Salzburg Festival, Aida at the Macerata opera festival, at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona and Opera Australia in Sydney and Melbourne. She also enjoys close relationships with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where she led productions of Lohengrin and Macbeth and conducted many concerts, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, Freiburg Philharmonic and the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genua. She was General Music Director in Wuppertal from 2016-2021. Other highlights during the 2023/24 season include Rigoletto at Covent Garden, Le nozze di Figaro at the National Theatre in Prague and concerts with the Orchestra of Opera North, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra and at the Tirol Festival in Erl.
